Facebook or Fat Pie? Is that the question?

I’ts December the twelfth month of the year two thousand eleven, and I have not written in this “dear self” version of a blog since the sixth month of this year, nor have I baked very many of my special “fat pies”. I have spent most of my time in the “art-farming” realm, as in the garden, and to say the least there have been a few adventures that have kept me occupied in this physical world, in North West Lower Michigan.

Presently, I have the urge on this cloud-filled, impending snow-stormy morning to send a letter to myself, through the means of speaking to someone else out and about through this simulated reality. The first thing my brain bounces to is a slight place of dread. Part of me feels like I ought to back paddle through the last six months, and do a update/catch-up…considering this blog business is all about on-going pie-baking and garden reporting or yammering on with my version and twist of this and that.

And, yes the other place I’ve been, in the artificially generated land aka “online” is Facebook. I
attempt to be an honest person. To tell people straight out that not only do I use Facebook, I also love it. It’s become my morning news feed and info sharing. I’ve always relied on what other people tell me is happening, rather than the daily practice of searching through the media. I tend to trust my friends intelligent observations and open hearts.

AND, yes, I posted this photo and poem on Facebook before here with the Fat Pie’s.
It’s a sassy poem, inspired by the morning, and in honor of many stress and depressed times that are a’changin’ in our blessed lives in an accelerated fashion…

MY energy pours itself
in an unintended and uninvited direction
and ends up scaring the shit
out of the ones who are struck between their eyes

my morning light shouts

that flesh and bone mask
into my daylight

your daily ritual
transporting the load
to which your calloused feet are fated

in my sun shine
it round your head
it like a heating pad on your prickly scalp

this light into your ear
the back of your eyeballs
it our the other side

lazy skin laying
there is no time for yearning
NO time for dread

your silly self
to get back to bed
if you can not

this heat
this gracious gift

yourself and make
your own pathetic dark
your weak warmth

of my sight

TODAY is our chance
to pull this energy close
to squeeze it’s fiery finger
and receive our just rewards

YOU must heed my call

the lead of a beating mighty drummer
SHOUTING out strength
BREATHING fire into funny blue lungs

your body in my direction

to me, pretty, growing flower child
along this well-lit path

ILLUMINATED you may pick
GATHERING along this way
SCOOPING you silly fool

Don’t expect me
to give you EVERYTHING

my wagging tentacles of gold
upon each of you plodding ants

INSPIRING you awake

this explanation is SAPPING me

me alone to beam
my salvation in your direction

THANK you not
to insist such from me tomorrow

AS if
the SUN won’t shine.
